Spread A Little Kindness

I have been struggling with depression and anxiety for most of my life and until now I hadn’t found anything that could keep me afloat.

I have recently started a project named Love From A Stranger where I leave notes around the city of Dundee with the hope that it may help others who struggle with thier mental health. Now for me this is more than just a project, for me it’s personal. I am giving people the kindness they not only deserve, but the kindness I never received during my darkest hours.

As easy as it is to be kind, we live in a world where people would rather ignore the plight of others if it has no direct effect on them. It saddens me that there are people out there who would rather look away when you’re so clearly upset, rather than just sharing a kind word of support.

Everyone is having a hard time some more so than others, but all of their feelings are valid, and all should be respected and supported through even their darkest days.

All it takes is a kind word to change a person’s life. It could potentially save a life. There are so many people out there who have thought about taking their own lives, and plenty of those who have done so. Maybe they just needed someone out there to say “Hey. I get it. I understand the darkness, I’ve been there. We can get through this together.”

Let’s stop making people feel like they should be ashamed of their mental health to the point where they try to hide it, and instead empower them do be able do something about it.

I for one would like to break this stigma around mental health. We all have mental health, Lets be kind always xox
